Pletcher 4x6Dr. Rikki Enzor is a cataract surgeon and fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist. In addition to cataract and glaucoma surgery, she has a particular interest in the surgical treatment of dislocated lenses and iris-related issues. She performs cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, glaucoma tube shunt and trabeculectomy surgeries, glaucoma laser treatments, and advanced anterior segment surgeries including lens reposition, lens exchange, and iris repair procedures.

While growing up in suburbs of Columbus, OH, and San Francisco, CA, Dr. Enzor developed interests in the arts and sciences. She continued to cultivate these interests by studying biochemistry and piano performance at Judson College in Marion, AL, where she graduated summa cum laude. While earning her MD and PhD degrees at the Indiana University School of Medicine, she made advancements in understanding why children with a particular genetic disorder develop cancer and was a frequent volunteer at a free eye clinic in downtown Indianapolis. At the conclusion of her medical training, she was honored with the university’s William M. Plater Civic Engagement Medallion.

Dr. Enzor completed her ophthalmology residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where she was the recipient of her program’s Excellence in Teaching Award. Highlights of her residency training included volunteering with the Guerilla Eye Service, starting a Resident As Teacher program, and teaching intraocular suturing at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Enzor’s training culminated in the completion of a glaucoma fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine’s Glick Eye Institute.

Dr. Enzor moved to southwest Michigan from Indianapolis with her husband David, son Samuel, and toy poodle Scotty. She and her family enjoy artistic pursuits such as creating and listening to music together, as well as outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and swimming. She is excited to join Great Lakes Eye Care in providing excellent subspecialty ophthalmology care to the region.
