One of the most common procedures is cataract removal. This requires removing the natural lens using a minimally invasive procedure, and replacing it with a new artificial lens, called an intraocular lens (or IOL) which will remain in the eye permanently. It is important that you make an informed decision regarding your options when it comes to your Implant Choices!

Lens Implants

Great Lakes Eye Care is excited to offer premium lens implant options to patients who wish to reduce their dependancy on glasses!

Currently, we offer the following options as Cataract surgery lens implants —

Basic
This option is covered by insurance. Patient's cost depends on their insurance plan. 
Glasses are typically needed after surgery for best distance and near vision tasks.

Toric Single Focus Implant 
For those who have astigmatism and desire less dependence on glasses! This corrests for one distance (either far or near). Glasses may still be needed for some vision tasks. Advanced Testing is required as a seperate cost.

Range Of Focus Implant
For those who desire the least dependency on glasses! This option generally gives excellent distance and intermediate vision and enable patients to do most near tasks without glasses. Surgical correction of astigmatism is included with this implant. Expect to need reading glasses for very fine print and tasks closer than 18-22 inches. 

*Please keep in mind that your insurance will not contribute towards a specialty implant such as the Toric or Range of Focus lens*
