Glaucoma surgery has undergone a revolution within the last few years.  Many of the newer glaucoma techniques are classified as "minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery" or "MIGS" which refers to a less invasive surgery with shorter healing times. In the last few years, more than 8 types of devices and techniques have been described that are classified as MIGS.

At the surgery center, we provide both traditional glaucoma surgeries, trabeculectomy and tube shunts, in addition to some of the newer MIGS techniques, iStent, XEN gel stent and Kahook blade goniotomy.  We also can provide laser trabeculoplasty for glaucoma patients as well.

The specific, best technique for surgically treating glaucoma is individualized, and your doctor may suggest one specific way to treat your glaucoma which is customized to your needs.
