Seward 4x6Dr. Michael Seward grew up in Marietta, GA, and graduated from Marietta High School. He received a scholarship to attend Emory University where he earned degrees in history and biology. After college he deferred, for one year, his admission to medical school, in order to work on board the Mercy Ship Anastasis in West Africa. It was here that he developed a keen interest in medical missions and also met his wife, a Norwegian woman named Jannike, pronounced [Yan-ik-ka].

He then entered medical school at the Medical College of Georgia, followed by an internship at Winthrop-University Hospital in New York, residency at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, and a fellowship in cornea, external eye disease, and refractive surgery at the University of Texas, Southwestern, in Dallas.

Dr. Seward brings a wealth of experience in the field of refractive surgery (such as LASIK) and also in cornea transplantation, along with the medical treatment of surface ocular disease.
